Welcome to Part 1 of My Spec Ideas That'll Never Happen. A miniseries documenting some ideas for speculative biology projects that, as much as I would love to bring into fruition, will never become a reality due to lack of time and would only distract me from the many projects that I already have planned. In this episode we'll be looking into an idea that had been swimming around in my head for centuries after its abandonment. A project that has since served as one of my biggest inspirations alongside Kaiju Revolution and Gondolend (conceptually speaking): Fallow Earth. An informal English-to-Latin/Greek dictionary to assist in the systematic naming of imaginary taxa.
For the sake of simplicity, only the masculine form of adjectives is listed here.
In most cases the feminine and neuter forms of adjectives are found by replacing the -us termination with -a and -um, respectively (e.g. minutus, minuta, minutum). Likewise, the feminine and neuter forms of adjectives ending with -er are found by adding -a and -um, respectively (e.g. fructifer, fructifera, fructiferum).
The neuter form of adjectives ending with -is is found by replacing the -is termination with -e (e.g. imperialis, imperialis, imperiale).
